Cleversafe Wins Chicago Innovation Award
CHICAGO, Illinois – October 28, 2008 -- Cleversafe Inc., the leading provider of Dispersed Storage® technology, announced today that it has won a 2008 Chicago Innovation Award. One of only ten winners chosen from more than 300 companies, Cleversafe was honored for its innovative approach to storing and archiving digital content.
Traditional storage backup and archiving approaches that rely on replicating data are not economically or practically suited to handle the massive data growth facing most large enterprises. Cleversafe’s technology avoids the inefficiency of replication by dividing data into “slices” using Information Dispersal Algorithms and dispersing those slices, via secure network connections, to multiple storage nodes on a Dispersed Storage Network.
